Come and find your roots with embodied movement. Restore your nervous system with Pranayama. Remember your connection to the earth with a walk in the redwoods. Reflect with time to journal. Build meaningful connections and community in a beautiful natural setting.
A light meal and snacks will be provided. Bring a journal, a pen and cozy layers to move and rest.
About the Instructors:
Kavita Patel (she/her) is a Yoga Educator and founder of Being in School, an organization dedicated to integrating embodied yoga and mindfulness practices into public education and community spaces.
An E-RYT 500-hour instructor, her credentials include advanced certifications in Children and Teens Yoga, Trauma-Informed Training, and Restorative Yoga. Her unique approach is informed by a BFA in Acting, years of dance, and a commitment to social justice. Kavita has successfully partnered with the Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, and Dublin Unified School Districts to weave yoga and mindfulness into their core curriculums. She has also served on the YTT faculty of Prana Yoga and Wellbeing and Mindbody Zone. Kavita believes that when yoga is made accessible to all, it becomes a powerful tool for unity, healing, and collective liberation.
Meera Dhawan is a Trauma-Informed Yoga Educator (500 E-RYT) and a therapist-in-training (MFT/PCC Graduate) who integrates Eastern wisdom with modern mental health practices. Raised between cultures as an Indian-American, her connection to Yoga began during childhood visits to India, where she learned pranayama from her grandmother. She has trained in India and San Francisco under various teachers with specialized trainings in Pranayama, Meditation, Restorative Yoga, and Ayurveda.
Meera’s work blends traditional Yoga with contemporary therapeutic understanding through a person-centered and culturally rooted approach. She leads trainings, workshops, retreats, and one-on-one sessions focused on supporting others on their journey to self.
